Driven by her deep commitment to families in Central Florida, Michel Watson, Esq. launched Brevard County Family Mediation to offer a more respectful, collaborative alternative to court-driven conflict resolution. As a Florida Supreme Court–Certified Family Mediator and longtime Brevard County resident, Michel has witnessed first-hand how courtroom battles can leave families emotionally raw and financially strained.  These often unintended consequence of litigation can take years to heal.

With extensive experience in family law litigation, Michel recognized that too often, the adversarial court process prolongs distress and disconnects parties. In cases where children are involved, litigation can lead to years of bad blood between parents that adversely effect their children.  She saw a better way: one where communication, empathy, and mutual respect define the process. Through mediation, families find creative solutions that work for their lives instead of leaving outcomes in a judge’s hands .

Michel’s mission has always been about helping families retain dignity and control during difficult transitions. She founded Brevard County Family Mediation so people could engage with a neutral, professional mediator who empowers both parties to reach agreements that prioritize everyone’s well-being, without the expense, delay, or stress of litigation.

From her early days at major firms handling divorces, custody changes, and asset division, to launching her own mediation-focused practice, Michel consistently chose collaboration over confrontation.  She believes in guiding families toward peaceful resolutions that strengthen relationships rather than fracture them, particularly when children’s futures are at stake.
